If you had the opportunity to reprogram your life, what would you change?
Would you live in a different place? Have different habits? Think about yourself and others differently? Hang out with different people?
These changes are all characteristics of your next-level self!
Your next-level self is the version of you that is more aligned with your goals and is living the life you’re currently dreaming of.
This version of you has it all! From the new car that you’ve had your eye on to the most-healthy version of your body and a mindset that promotes joy over negativity!
Sounds like a dream, right? Fortunately, this all can truly be your reality!
So, how do you get there?
First and foremost, you’ve got to get clear on who this next-level version of you is. This new version of you can be as similar or different from your current self as you’d like.
However, there’s one rule you’ve got to follow when creating your next-level self: You have to remain grateful for your current self. Without your current experiences & capabilities, you wouldn’t be here today- alive and filled with endless opportunities to keep reaching for your next-level self.
When building this next-level version of you, be as detailed as possible and write it down!
I like to break my next-level self image down into two categories: inner world and outer world.
Your inner world is everything going on inside your body- from your head to your toes. This is where you should detail anything and everything that has to do with your mindset- how you view others, how you view yourself, how you react in certain situations, habits, etc. This is also a good spot to touch on any fitness goals you have for your body as exercise and proper nutrition often have a lot to do with your mindset and developing healthy habits.
Your outer world is everything outside of your physical being. This can include the space you live in, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, etc. Take time to dig deep and think of the items that will add value to your life- whether it’s a boost in confidence because you have an empowering outfit on or added peace because you’re in a space where you feel calm and centered.
Once you’ve made these categories, it’s time to get specific! You might break the categories down further (ex. car, clothes, house, etc. in the outer world category) to give your brain the space it needs to paint a clearer picture, or you might let your brain flow with all the images of the next-level self you desire.
Here are a couple of key questions you’ll want to make sure are covered in your vision:
What does a typical work day/weekend day look like for you?
What does your home look like?
What items around you bring you the most joy and why?
What habits do you consistently perform?
How do you feel in this next-level life?
Bonus tip: Write everything in the present tense (as if you already have it) to put your mind and body in this next-level energy.
Once you’ve got a clear image of your next-level self, it’s time to step into this version of you!
You already know how you feel in this new version of you, so it’s time to start doing the things the new you would do.
Does your next-level self have a decluttered house, but yours feels cramped and cluttered? Clean your space.
Is your next-level self fitter than your current self? Develop the habits your next-level self already has to stay fit (movement, nutrition, etc.).
Is your next-level self always joyful? Take notice of your current thoughts and shift them when you notice negativity clouding your headspace.
Before you know it, you’ll be living your next-level life and seeking bigger and better things 💛
