Wellness Weekly: How to Infuse Your Life With More Joy 😄

Too often, we get caught up in the rat race of life. We go and go and go without truly enjoying the moment we’re living in.

Or, better yet, in the moments we’re supposed to be enjoying, we’re focused on other issues outside of the scope of what we’re doing or focused on doing something else that takes away from the moment (like scrolling on our phones).

It’s a vicious cycle that, unfortunately, many of us fall prey to.

That’s why this week’s wellness tip is to do something simply for the joy of it.

I know- it’s easier said than done. As a teacher that’s also in a play right now and trying to maintain a blog and content writing side hustle while leaving time to spend with family and care for her house… If there’s anyone that’s going to get it, it’s gonna be me.

(Sorry I had to 🤣)

However, that’s exactly why I know how important taking time out to fill your own cup and enjoy life is.

So, for all my readers out there looking to infuse their lives with more happiness, here are some steps to get started

Schedule You Time

This step is a non-negotiable, especially for my busy bees out there!

I don’t care if it’s 30 minutes a week, 60 minutes a day, or one day out of the month. Whatever works best for you.

By building this time into your schedule, not only are you opening yourself up to the ability to take time for yourself, you’re also making yourself a priority, which goes a long way with how you feel about yourself.

Bonus Tip: If you don’t think you have the time, start small! 10 minutes a day can be the start of a beautiful self-care routine. 💛

Make an List & Keep it Handy

A list of what, exactly?

Make a list of you time activities of course! Your list should consist of a few different types of activities: Activities you could do during your busy days, activities that are available on less-busy days (ex. The weekend), and activities that might take some scheduling.

Here are some examples of these different types of activities:

Busy Days:

  • Skincare

  • Face Mask

  • Bath

  • Read 10 Pages of a Book

  • Gratitude Journal

Relaxed Days:

  • Spend Time in the Sun

  • Take a Nap

  • Clean/Organize Your Space

Scheduled Activities:

  • Massage/Spa Day

  • Beach Day

  • Family Time

  • Amusement Park Day

  • Day Date

Stay Consistent

You are the only person who can control you. Therefore, it’s up to you to hold up your end of the bargain and infuse your life with more joy!

The two previous steps are your key to staying consistent. By taking away barriers to giving yourself joy, it’ll be much easier to fall into that habit (pro tip for when you’re trying to build any habits)!

Now go out there and get yourself some joy!
